You Don’t Have to Keep Hiding Parts of Yourself to Survive

You may be feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, disconnected from yourself, or stuck in patterns that no longer feel healthy or sustainable. Maybe you’ve spent so much time caring for others, masking your emotions, hiding parts of yourself to fit in, or doing whatever it took to function and feel accepted that you’re no longer sure who you are underneath it all.

If you’ve been surviving in silence, constantly “holding it together,” or feeling like you have to shrink yourself to feel safe, therapy can be a space where you finally exhale. Together, we’ll work toward helping you feel more grounded, authentic, emotionally supported, and connected to yourself without shame or judgment.

  • You give so much of yourself to others, yet still feel like it’s never enough

  • You’ve been masking or hiding parts of yourself for so long that you’ve lost connection with who you truly are

  • You feel emotionally exhausted from constantly trying to meet the expectations of others

  • You’re overwhelmed by the weight of everyday responsibilities and struggling to find balance

  • You often feel unseen, unsupported, or let down by the people you’ve poured so much into

  • You struggle to prioritize your own needs without guilt or shame

  • You feel stuck in survival mode, constantly “holding it together” for everyone else

  • You long to feel safe, authentic, emotionally grounded, and accepted as your full self

You’ve adopted survival strategies that once protected you but no longer support the life or relationships you want for yourself…

Meet Angela Phillips-McCord, LMFT

Hi! I’m Angela Phillips-McCord, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP-I).

I help teens and adults navigate trauma, anxiety, identity exploration, relationship challenges, emotional overwhelm, and life transitions through trauma-informed, inclusive, and affirming therapy, with a special commitment to supporting women and the LGBTQIA2S+ community.

I believe everyone deserves the opportunity to live as their truest, most authentic self. I also believe we all have the capacity to transform our lives, though sometimes we need support, guidance, and a safe space to begin that process. I know what it feels like to believe you have to hide parts of yourself or become someone else in order to be loved or accepted, and that understanding deeply shapes the way I show up as a therapist.

My goal is to help you reconnect with yourself, heal the patterns and survival strategies that no longer serve you, and create a life that feels more authentic, grounded, and emotionally fulfilling.
